IFS & Sexuality Clinical Consultation Group

“There are few issues that trigger our parts more than sex. There is no one who has provided a better map to lift us out of that morass and into Self led bliss than Patty Rich.” Richard Schwartz, Founder, Internal Family Systems model

Patty has a wealth of knowledge and a unique perspective on sexuality and the IFS model.  She has created a new and fresh approach with tools and techniques that can be easily used with clients to help them identify and work through sexual issues to heal and improve such an important aspect of their lives.  After being a part of her workshop and consultation group I feel more competent and capable with a new set of tools to use with my clients, and to apply to my own life.”  Brenda Smith MA, LPC (she, her)

“It is my absolute pleasure to share my experience in Patty Rich’s first IFS Self-Led Sexuality Group that ran this year (2021). Patty’s expertise, combined with her deeply compassionate and calm manner of leadership, afforded a welcoming, open forum from the very start. Through her unique lens of the “6 S’s” I was able to develop and deepen my understanding of the complexity of sexuality in a profound way. The structure of the group carefully allowed for mindfulness exercises structured around the 6 S’s, individual clinical case presentations and Patty’s theoretical concepts and IFS strategies. I felt inspired after each group session; and I plan to continue to invite my clients’ curiosity about befriending the myriad, layered sexual Parts that help to hinder and fuel their own Selves.”  Marina Kelton, BEd., RP.

Overview: This 6 session monthly online group will offer therapists the opportunity to deepen their skills and self-awareness using IFS to address sexual concerns that arise during clinical work, informed by the presenters conceptualization of Self-Led Sexuality. It will focus thematically on one of the 6 S’s of Sexual Self energy each meeting and include some combination of meditation, speaking for parts, demos, teaching, and participant presentations of a case or professional issue. It is not expected that each participant will present each time but that all will have opportunities during the progression of the group.

This group is for licensed therapists with Level One IFS training or significant exposure to the IFS model such as the IFS-Institute Online Circle and Continuity Program, experiential introductory workshop, etc. Some education or professional experience addressing sexuality would be helpful but not required, as would having previously taking one of Patty’s didactic offerings on Self-Led Sexuality.
